Funeral services for Jess T. "Bud" McDowell, 88, were held Friday April 5, at Collins Funeral Home, Winterset, with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. McDowell died April 2, 1991 at Winterset Care Center South.
A Madison Cunty resident since 1931, Jess Thomas McDowell was born Decemer 1, 1902 to Clinton and Florence (Ash) McDowell in Evansville, Ind. and married Dorothy Beem August 10, 1932 in Kansas City, Mo. He was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, and two sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Ted and wife, Audrey, and Terry and wife, Ruth, all of Lorimor; a sister, Inez Jackson, of Clarkstown, Wash.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Winterset Cemetery.
