GALE EMERSON OF WINTERSET DIES

Former Peru Resident Dies At Home in Winterset Thursday

Gale Emerson, member of a well-known Madison county family and a life-time resident of the county, died Thursday, Nov. 30, at his home in Winterset. He was 65 years of age.

Mr. Emerson was born at Peru on Oct. 16, 1896, a son of Sylvester and Dulcie Weeks Emerson. His life was spent in farming near Peru until his retirement in 1946, when he moved to Winterset.

He was a member of the Peru Methodist church.

In Nov. 1, 1917, he was married in Des Moines to Marie Frederickson, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. William See of Peru; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Mease of Winterset; and a brother Ralph Emerson of Newton.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
