Page 1DEATH OF JOHN BENOIT
John Louis Benoit, a resident of Winterset for the past two years, died here September 28. He was 59 years of age.
Mr. Benoit was born at Clare, Iowa, on January 24, 1875. He was united in marriage in 1896 to Alice Loehr of Moorland, Iowa. For most of their lives they were residents of Humboldt county, coming to Winterset two years ago to make their home with their sons.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Benoit is survived by four children, Mrs. Donald Bay of Dixon, Illinois; Clyde Benoit of Michigan; and Leo and Adolph Benoit of Winterset; and four sisters and six brothers, Mrs. E. J. Hood of Des Moines, Mrs. L. J. Brown and Mrs. William Cavanaugh of Gilmore City, Mrs, William Winters of Algona, C. E. Benoit of Iowa Falls, H. Benoit of Fort Dodge, Leo Benoit of Clare, Alf Benoit of Harlan, and Oliver Benoit and William Benoit of Gilmore City; and by eight grandchildren.
The funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset on October 1. The Rev. Father W. Hehessy was in charge. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
