Services Held for Former Resident

Funeral services were held at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines April 7th for Jerry Dunbar. Mr. Dunbar, who was 48, died of a malignant brain tumor and had been a patient at the Methodist Hospital and Medicenter for five months.

He was born in Waterloo the son of Ray and Mabel Dunbar and moved to Winterset when he was three years old. He graduated from the Winterset High School with the class of 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Dunbar had resided in Des Moines for several years and had been employed by the John Deere company for 23 years.

He is survived by his wife,Lorene, two daughters,Mrs. Sharon Boyd of Des Moines and Mrs. Jackie Glenn of Ankeny and son Richard of Kansas City, Missouri, his mother, Mrs. Mabel Dunbar of Winterset, two brothers, Clarence of Ankeny and William of Des Moines and seven grandchildren.
