EUGENE ALEXANDER Services Held

Eugene Alexander, a lifetime resident of Winterset, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1981, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at the age of 53.

Born on June 8, 1927, in Winterset, he was the son of Raymond and Lucille Clark Alexander. He was united in marriage to Norma Downing on Nov. 10, 1949, in Nashua, Iowa.

Mr. Alexander served 18 years on the Madison County ASC Township Committee, on the Board of Directors of the Farmers Co-op and was a member of the American Legion. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a farmer and fabric retailer in Winterset.

Among the survivors are his wife, Norma; two daughters, Mrs. Debbie Kephart of New Virginia, Sherri at home, his mother and three brothers, Donald of North Glen, Colo., John of Englewood, Calif., and Ed of Van Meter. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Grotewold officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
