TOM WIEDMANN Dies at 69 Years

Thomas J. Wiedmann, a well known Crawford township resident for most of his life, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning at his farm home, following a heart attack. He was 69 years of age.

Mr. Wiedmann was born in Crawford township, October 1, 1896, a son of William and Isabella Kilduff Wiedmann. He was married November 15, 1923, to Agnes Donahoe, whose death occured in 1929.

Except for six years in Warren county, his entire life was spent in Crawford township, north of Patterson. He was one of the community leaders over a long period of years in the Triple-A and A.S.C.S. and was active in the National Farm organization. He served his township as assessor and trustee. He was an active member of the congregation at the Catholic Church of the Assumption in Churchville.

Mr. Wiedmann is survived by six children, Thomas J. Wiedmann of Prole, Mrs. Paul Strable of St. Charles, Mrs. Jim Dooley of Booneville, Mrs. Lewis McLaughlin of Cumming, Mrs. Ed Harkin of Des Moines, and Patrick Wiedmann of Cumming. He also leaves 34 grandchildren; a brother, William Wiedmann of St. Charles; and two sisters, Mrs. Lou Nehring of S. Charles and Isabella Wiedmann with whom he had made his home north of Patterson.

Rosary services were held last Saturday from the Caldwell-Brian Funeral home in Des Moines, and Sunday from the parish hall in Churchville. Funeral services were held Monday from the Church of the Assumption, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Dennis Curtin. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery in Warren County.
