C. T. MOORHEAD OF MENLO DIED JAN. 15

Funeral services were held Jan. 15 at the Methodist church in Menlo for C. T. Moorhead, formerly of Webster township in Madison County.

Mr. Moorhead died at Menlo, where he had been living in recent years. He was 85 years of age.

For 16 years Mr. Moorhead operated the Philmoor grocery and gas station 11 miles west of Winterset on No. 92.

He is survived by his wife, the former Blanche Messinger, to whom he was married June 8, 1902. He also leaves a son, James M. Moorhead of Boulder, Colo., and a grandson, Larry James Moorhead of Boulder.

CLARENCE T. Moorhead

Clarence T. Moorhead, son of Aaron and Ara Linton Moorhead, was born near Montieth in Guthrie County, Iowa, October 1, 1877. He departed this life January 12, 1963 at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 12 days. He was one of eleven children.

On June 8, 1902 he was united in marriage to Blanche Messinger and Clarence and Blanche spent their 60th wedding anniversary together last June with open house.

He grew to manhood in Guthrie county and was a member of the Methodist church. His life was spent in the lumber and grocery business He was manager of a lumber yard in Earlham about 30 years ago. He enjoyed many years in the grocery business west of Winterset

Later, when retiring, he moved to Menlo, where he spent his remaining years. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, a faithful friend and a good neighbor

He was preceded in death by one son, his mother and father, two sisters and five brothers.
