Doris E. Fitzgerald, Winterset

Services for Doris Ellen Fitzgherald, 68, of Winterset, who died Dec. 30, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, were held Saturday, Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, Truro. Pastor Jim Patrick of Indianola officiated with burial in Fremont Cemetery, Clarke County.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was born February 7, 1919 in Clarke County, the daughter of Charles W. Harris and Mary Lucinda Prine Harris. She attended Fremont and New Virginia schools. She married Leon Merle Fitzgerald on June 24, 1937. She was employed at the Union State Bank in Winterset 31 years. She lived in Madison County since 1951.

Survivors include her husband, Leon of Winterset; son, Dr. Stanley M. Fitzgerald of Ankeny; daughter, Leona Faye Jones of Winterset; three brothers, Art Harris of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Lloyd Harris of Des Moines and Gerald Harris of Los Angeles, California; three sisters, Malvia Ferguson of Burbank, California; Helen McIllvain and Ruby Lieberg, both of Los Angeles, California; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
