CHARLES G. CROW, Winterset

Services for Charles G. Crow, 89, Winterset, who died Dec. 10, 1983, at the Madison County Hospital, were held Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Macksburg Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Ganzel officiating. Military graveside services were held at the Moon Cemetery.

Born Mar. 15, 1894, in Madison County, he was the son of A.D. and Jessie Hart Smith Crow.

Mr. Crow was in the produce business and farming until 1973, when he retired. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the VFW and American Legion.

He belonged to the Congregational Church and was an originator of the Union State Bank and served as a bank director for 33 years. He also helped originate the Madison County Hospital and was a trustee for 20 years and was one of the organizers of the Selective Service in Madison County and president for two years. Other organizations he belonged to were the Shriners, Masons and IOOF Lodge.

On Jan. 30, 1924, he was married to Georgia Harrison in Madison County. Mr. Crow had recently been a resident of the Bethesda apartments here.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John of Oxford, Ohio; a daughter, Doris (Mrs. Randall) Glick of Aurora, Co.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
