Edith Bowles, a lifetime resident of Madison County died Friday, Feb. 20 at Madison County Memorial Hospital She was 91 years old.
Born in Walnut Township on August 13, 1889, she was the daughter of George Bowles and Minnie Jacobs.
She was teacher in rural schools, teaching at Walnut No. 5 and Pleasant Ridge.
She was a member of the Madison County Antique Association, Barney Ladies Aid, and the Barney Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 23 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Dorothy Petersen of Red Oak officiating. Burial was at Barney Cemetery.
