Raymond L. Boyd, Winterset

Services for Raymond L. Boyd, 84, a native of Madison County who died April 22 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Monday, April 25 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.

Born Feb. 1, 1899, he was the son of Claude and Myrtle Ruth Boyd. He married Ruth Curtis Nov. 24, 1921 in Winterset. She died Jan. 11, 1966. He married Geneva Patterson Feb. 12, 1967 in Indianola and she survives.

Mr. Boyd was a lifetime resident of Madison and Adair counties, working as a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the IOOF Lodge.

Other survivors include stepsons, Paul Patterson of Upton, Wyo., and Eugene Patterson of Winterset; daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Charles) Holtmyer, Velma Secrest and Marilyn (Mrs. Duane) Bush, all of Winterset; a step-daughter, Ruth Miller of Winterset; brothers, Clair and Loren both of Des Moines; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death also by his parents, an infant daughter, a grandson, a son-in-law, and three sisters.
