Mrs. Elmer Eivins of Macksburg, a life-long resident of Madison county died at her home there Friday, April 27, 1962. She was 84 years of age.
Mrs. Eivins was the former Parmelia Alice Schutz, daughter of Andrew and Ellen Schutz. She was born in Grand River township May 2, 1877.
She was married Nov. 27, 1901 to Elmer C. Eivins. They moved to Webster township, where they lived for five years, before moving back to a farm north of Macksburg in Grand River township. After 41 years on this farm they moved into Macksburg.
They observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary, Nov. 27, 1961, at their home.
She was a member of the Macksburg Methodist church taking an active part in the work of the Women's society, as long as her health permitted. She was also affiliated with the Women's Relief corps.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Orlie C. Eivins and Clarence L. Eivins, both of Macksburg; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Coffman of Winterset and Mrs. Margaret Orr of St. Charles; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Macksburg Methodist church Sunday, with the Rev. Donald Frank officiating. Burial was made in Pleasant View Cemetery.
