Rites Wednesday For Frank Neal

Frank Neal of 317 E. Buchanan St. died Sunday Sept. 14 at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County.

Born on May 21, 1895, in Winterset, he was the son of Robert Lee and Octavia Landers Neal. Mr. Neal served with the Army Infantry during World War I and united in marriage to Hazel E. Lindsley on Feb. 21, 1918, in Des Moines. He was a member of the Union Chapel Methodist Church and VFW Post 8142.

Surviving are his wife Hazel; two children, Willis F. Neal of Denver, Colo., and Wanda Palmer of Winterset; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Lee Neal of St. Charles; and a sister, Wanda Strable, also of St. Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. ByronAyers officiating. Military graveside services by VFW Post 8142 were held at Union Chapel Cemetery.
