Jack Duff, 73, of Winterset died of a heart attack May 20, 1998, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 23, at the United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Jon Gaul officiating. Burial was in Winterset Cemetery.

Jack Duff was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Spalding, Iowa, to Calvin and Cora Ellen (Marshall) Duff. He moved to Winterset 52 years ago from Stuart. Jack married Helen Sheehan on March 8, 1947, in Atlantic. He was a retired insurance agent, a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion; Evening Star Masonic Lodge 43, the Winterset United Methodist Church and was past president of the Board of Directors for Patrons Mutual Insurance in Stuart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kathleen Wade (husband Donald) of Woodward and Nancy Gardiner (husband Thomas) of Perry; two sister, Leone Farwell of Winterset and Elowene Cannon of Mt. Ayr; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriners Children's Hospital.

Collins Funeral Home in Winterset was in charge of the arrangements.
