Services for Hester Hurst, 81, rural Winterset, who died Aug 21 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital, were held Aug. 24 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County March 5, 1904, she was the daughter of Isaac and Minnie Snyder Griffith. A lifetime resident, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was married to Raymond Hurst Oct. 10, 1931 at Springfield, Ill.

Survivors include a daughter, Sondra (Mrs. James F. Waltz) of Norwalk; and two grandchildren, Brad Waltz of Creston and Pam Waltz of Austin, Texas.

Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a son, James Ralph Hurst,; a brother and two sisters.

WINTERSET, IA.—Services for Hester Hurst, 81, of Winterset, who died of a kidney ailment Wednesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the cemetery here.

Mrs. Hurst was born in Madison County and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Sondra Waltz of Norwalk; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home.
