Hugo Howell Services At Cumming

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Feb. 17 at 10:30 a.m. for Hugo H. Howell, 79, who died at his home in Lee township Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1978. Services were at St. Patrick's Irish Settlement at Cumming, Father Jim Kiernan officiating. Burial was made at the Norwalk Cemetery.

Hugo Howell was born July 5, 1898, in Madison County, the son of B. F. and Mary Hutchins Howell. He was a lifetime resident of this county, a farmer, member of the Madison County Board of Education and served on the county assessment Board of Review.

The marriage of Hugo Howell and Muriel Wilkinson took place February 18, 1927, in Oxnard, Calif. She survives her husband.

Also surviving are three sons, Craig of Fanwood, New Jersey, Bruce of Des Moines and Mark of Cumming; three daughters, Jean Wight of Cedar Falls, Mary Ann Wahrer of Tucson, Ariz., Pat McCauley of Camarillo, Calif.; three sisters, Charlotte Courter, Margaret Owens and Phyllis Hawley, all of California and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
