Floy Youmans, Peru

Floy Mae Youmans, a lifetime Madison county resident, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 92 years old.

Born in Scott township on May 6, 1889, she was the daughter of Anderson and Mattie Sawhill Fenimore.

She attended Peru School and Highland Park College in Des Moines.

On Feb. 5, 1911, she married Clyde William Youmans in Scott township. Three children were born to the union.

Mrs. Youmans was a teacher by occupation. She was a member of Democrat Women's Club and attended Winterset United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Verdie; and two brothers, Grover and Ted Fenimore.

Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Lenore May of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Lavere Cumings of Peru; a son, Phillip Youmans of Des Moines; three sisters, Velcie Street of Osceola, Flossie Herwehe of Norwalk, and Mary Mesnier of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Clair and Bryan Fenimore of Peru; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 5, at United Methodist Church, Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at Peru Cemetery.
