WESLEY EIVINS Dies at 90

Wesley J. Eivins, a resident of Madison County for eighty years, died April 15, 1973 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was 90 years of age.

Mr. Eivins was born in Clarke County, Iowa near LaSalle, May 13, 1882, the son of John Frederick Eivins and Evoline Smith Eivins. He was the youngest of 12 children, seven brothers and four sisters, all of whom preceded him in death.

During the early 1900s Mr. Eivins operated a farm in Webster Township of Madison County, moving to Winterset in 1941. He was a long-time member of the Lion's Club and past president of the county Farm Bureau.

Mr. Eivins was married to Edith Maude Finney February 14, 1903 in the Methodist parsonage at Winterset.

Survivors include his wife, Maude Eivins; a son, Ray Eivins of Winterset; and a daughter, Esther Hannon of Macksburg. Two Eivins children died in infancy.

Also surviving Mr. Eivins are six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 18, 1973 at 2:00 p.m. from the Winterset United Methodist Church with burial at the Pleasant View Cemetery.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Newton Coughenour.
