Cecil V. Clark, Winterset

Cecil V. Clark, 83, of Winterset died from complications of Parkinson's disease Friday, May 15, 1998, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 18, at Collins Funeral Home with Dr. Bobby G. Dickerson officiating. Burial was at McDonald-Chase Cemetery in Madison County.

Cecil Vernon Clark was born June 17, 1914, in Madison County to Walter Vernon and Alice May (Vaughan) Clark. He was a 1933 graduate of Winterset High School. On Dec. 14, 1935, he married Helen Irene Wray in Eldon, Iowa. Cecil was a farmer and a lifetime resident of Madison County. He also was a member of I.O.O.F. Madison Lodge 136 of Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter and one brother.

He is survived by his companion, Daisy Patterson of Winterset; three sons, James Clark (wife Bess) of Riverview, Fla., Steven Clark (wife Jewell) of Winterset and Martin Clark (companion Ronda) of Indianola; one daughter, Nancy Rae Clark (husband Donald Henry) of Earlham; one brother Raymond Guy Clark (wife Hazel) of Van Meter; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the McDonald-Chase Cemetery Association.
