MARIE DAVIS, Winterset

Ada Marie Davis, 88, died Aug. 9, 2002, of complications of Alzheimer's disease at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.

Graveside services were held Monday, Aug. 12, at Wintersest Cemetery with Dr. Ray Martin officiating.

Marie Davis was born Dec. 3, 1913, in Madison County to Wilbur and Sadie Louise (Brock) Hill. On Feb. 26, 1932, she married Harvey L. Davis in Grant City, Mo. A homemaker, Marie had been a lifetime resident of Winterset. She was a member of the Buffalo Gals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, a sister, a son-in-law and two infant great-grandaughters.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth H. Davis (wife Donna) of Winterset; three daughters, Betty Niblo (husband Robert) and Shirley Henry, both of Winterset, and Wanda Bane (husband Jerry) of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.

MARIE DAVIS, Winterset

Marie Davis, 88, of Winterset died of complications of Alzheimer’s disease Friday at West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation Center there. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p..m. Monday at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis was born in Madison County and had lived in the Winterset area all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Buffalo Gals. She enjoyed cooking and needlework.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth of Winterset; three daughters, Betty Niblo and Shirley Henry, both of Winterset, and Wanda Bane of Marshalltown, seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset, where the family will be present from 2 to 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund.
