Rev. Samuel B. Guiberson, who will be remembered as a former resident of Winterset by many of our older citizens, died at Santa Paula, Cal., January 4th, aged 75. The Santa Paula Chronicle says of him:

Rev. Guiberson was, we believe, the oldest Methodist minister in this conference. He has for several years been on the retired list but always was an active worker in local religious meetings. For many years he was an itinerant preacher in Iowa but came to California quite a number of years ago. It is said that when in the prime of life he was a preacher of more than ordinary power and eloquence, and as a revivalist had an extended reputation. In fact those who know of his early ministerial labors in the east report that he had few equals and perhaps no superior as a revivalist.
