DWIGHT V. MUNDELL, Winterset

Services for Dwight V. Mundell, 65, Winterset, who died April 5, 1989, at his residence, were held Saturday, April 8, at the First Christian Church in Winterset with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. Burial was at the Wintersest Cemetery with military services conducted by the American Legion.

Born in Wayne County on Jan. 10, 1924, he was the son of George and Bessie Gwinn Mundell. He was a self-employed auctioneer and real estate broker and had served in the Army Air Force during World War II.

Mr. Mundell had resided here for 35 years, coming from Des Moines. He was a member of the Green Rogers American Legion Post No. 184 and the Lakeview Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Griffith, whom he married on Sept. 16, 1978; sons, Michael of Des Moines and Tim of Winterset; a stepson, David Griffith of Cedar Rapids; stepdaughters, Judy Richardson of Denver, Colo.; and Nancy Anthony of Winterset; a sister, Joan Brown of Leon; two grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
