Funeral Service This Friday at Van Meter Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia Mueller will be held this Friday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. from the United Brethren church in Van Meter.
A well-known and long-time resident of Jefferson township, Mrs. Mueller died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at her farm home. She was 75 years of age.
The daughter of William and Emma Jean Hunt, she was born at Milo, Iowa on Sept. 27, 1886.
She attended Drake University and taught for nine years in the Des Moines school system before her marriage to Ernest Mueller in February of 1915. She lived on the same farm in the south part of Jefferson township from this time until her death.
Mrs. Mueller was active in township women's groups and also in her neighborhood Evangelical United Brethren church.
She was preceded in death by her husband. Surviving are six children, Mrs. Robert (Gretchen) Casper of Winterset, Ernest of Perry, Mrs. Tom (Emma) Chaffee of Travers City, Michigan, Merle of Des Moines, George at home, and Mrs. Lynn (Etta) Frink of Garden Grove, California; one sister, Mrs. Geraldine Fowler of Des Moines and 12 grandchildren.
Officiating at the service this Friday will be the Rev. Clifford Carter, pastor of the Van Meter U. B. Church. Burial will be in the Jefferson township United Brethren cemetery.
