Funeral services for Mrs. Harrison Martin, a lifetime Madison County resident, were held this Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home here.
Susan Marion Martin died Monday, Nov. 15, 1976, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 79 years of age.
The daughter of Benjamin F. and Susan C. Carter, she was born May 30, 1897, at Conger, Iowa. She was married to J. Harrison Martin on Sept. 22, 1912.
She was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for over 35 years and was a charter member of United Methodist Women. She also belonged to Eastern Star, Woman's Club and Child Welfare Club.
Surviving are her husband, one son, Dyle Martin of Clear Lake, Iowa and one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Maxine) Hall of Hamilton, Montana. Also four grandchildren: Mark and Mary Ellen Martin of Clear Lake, Jim Rummel of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Mrs. Steven (Susan) Elliot of Billings, Montana.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and three sisters, and a son, Lieut. James Deane Martin, killed in World War II.
Officiating at the funeral was Rev. Paul Bousfield. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
