Mable Shoemaker, 90, of Sioux City, died of a heart attack June 17, 1997 at the North Park Senior Living Community in Sioux City. Funeral services will be June 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Winterset. The Rev. Bobby Dickerson will officiate the services and burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1-8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m.
She was born in Madison County on April 29, 1907 to George and Clara (Bailey) Eyerly. She was a Winterset High School graduate. She married Ralph C. Shoemaker on Sept. 27, 1931 in Winterset. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Madison County until moving to Sioux City two years ago. She was a member of the Winterset Art Center and the Child Welfare Club. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and 18 brothers and sisters.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Patricia Probasco and husband Gene of Sioux City and Marcia Elder of Des Moines; one brother, Lloyd Eyerly of Des Moines; four grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials contributions may be directed to the Winterset Art Center or the First Christian Church.
