Funeral services for Ruth Edna Jackson, 78, were held Tues., Sept. 29, 1992, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, with the Rev. Donald Frank officiating. She died at Bethesda Care Center on September 26, 1992. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Jackson was born on November 5, 1913, in Madison County to John and Ruth (Young) Gamble. She married George Jackson on March 27, 1933, in Omaha, Neb. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. A homemaker, she was a member of United Methodist Women, AVA Club, Pythian Sisters Temple No. 105, and Republican Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Surviving relatives include her husband; four sons, Bill and wife Judy of Ottumwa, Larry and wife Twyla of Winterset, Richard and wife Karen of Lakeville, Minn., Phillip and wife Terry of Saugus, Calif.; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
