HUBERT STEDDOM, Winterset

Services for Hubert Steddom, 87, Winterset, who died Sept. 20, 1988, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Friday Sept. 23, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. A Masonic service will also be held at the church. Burial will be at the Forest Cemetery at Oskaloosa.

Born in Oskaloosa on March 31, 1901, he was the son of Isaac H. and Rebecca A. Blair (Steddom).

Mr. Steddom, retired lumber yard manager of the Winterset Hawkeye Lumber Co., was married to Marjorie L. Jamison on Sept. 27, 1922 at Oskaloosa.

He had lived in Winterset for 51 years, coming from Lovilia, Iowa. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Evening Star Masonic Lodge No. 43 and the Rotary International.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Barbara Rieker of Greeley, Colo., and Margaret Mease of Winterset; a sister, Lois E. Briggs of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, three brothers and two sisters.
