WALTER A. SMITH Dies at 81 Years

Walter A. Smith of Winterset, a life-time resident of Madison County, died Sunday, July 1, 1962, at Memorial hospital here. He was 81 years of age.

Mr. Smith was born in this county Sept. 24, 1880, a son of Asa B. and Mary M. Pender Smith. He was married April 14, 1928, to Sadie E. Weaver, who survives.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Brokaw; a brother, Roy A. Smith of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Weaver of Ames.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
