W. H. West, Monroe twp., farmer, Sec. 3; P.O. Winterset; born in Clinton county, Ohio, in 1820; came to this county in 1866; owns a farm of 164 acres; has held offices of town trustee and postmaster; he married Miss Cynthia Clark in 1846; she was born in Highland county, Ohio; their family consists of seven children: Joanna, Asbury M., Mary E., Nannie C., John B., George W. and Edward N.; they have lost three: Martha E., Alice A. and Carrie M.
