F. M. Walker, Webster twp., farmer, Sec. 23; P.O. Winterset; born in Indiana in 1828, and learned the trade of gunsmith; he came to this county in 1855; owns 120 acres of land; has held offices of town trustee and school director, and was postmaster at Pleasant View until the office was abandoned; he married Miss Elizabeth Miller in 1849; she was born in Indiana; has three children: Alta, Rollin and Charles; when he settled here there was not a fence in sight, and he has counted thirty-four deer in one herd.
