D. H. McDill, Winterset, of the firm of Morgan & McDill, furniture dealers and undertakers; born in Henderson county, Illinois, in 1843; came to this county in September, 1868; owns 160 acres of land; he enlisted in the 84th Illinois Infantry in the late war and served three years; he married Miss S. C. Morgan in May, 1867; she was born in Pennsylvania; has five children: Clara E., Mary A., Jesse, Blanche and Wilbur.
