R. M. Morgan, Webster twp., farmer, Sec. 19; P.O. Middle River; born in Menard
county, Illinois, in 1842, where he resided until the outbreak of the rebellion and enlisted in the Twenty-eighth Illinois infantry, August 1, 1861, and was discharged April 6, 1865; he came to this county in 1866; owns 148 acres of land; has held office of township trustee; he married Miss Martha A. Nance in 1867; she was born in Menard county, Illinois; has five children: Luella, Laura B., Alva K., Eliza A. and Melissa.
