J. M. Miller, Winterset, attorney, of the firm of Wainright & Miller; born in Decatur county, Iowa, in 1851; his father was a minister, and after residing in various places came to this county in 1868; his early education was supplemented by a course at the Des Moines University, where he graduated in 1875; he read law and graduated from the law school in Des Moines in 1876, at which time he was admitted to the bar; he has held the office of mayor of the city.
