George W. Guye, Union twp., farmer, Sec. 24; P.O. Winterset; born in White county, Tennessee, in 1826; moved with his parents to Indiana in 1828, and emigrated to Missouri in 1841, and came to this place May 3, 1846, and entered the first land in Madison county; has held township offices; he married Miss L. Harris September 2, 1849; she was born in Luke county, Ohio; has five children: James M., Mary, Sarah, Elva M. and Charles L.
