Wm. J. Guthrie, Walnut twp., farmer, Sec. 34; P.O. Ohio; born in Campbell county, Virginia, August 25, 1818; he was raised in Madison county, Ohio; he married Miss Margaret Turner, of Green county, Ohio, February 13, 1845; in 1849 he came to Iowa and wintered in Mahaska county, and came here the following spring; he took up a claim and entered 200 acres, where he now lives; they have two sons and one daughter: John W., Thomas A. and Margaret L.
