Abel Choate, Jackson twp., farmer, Sec. 18; P.O. Dexter; born in Grafton county, New Hampshire, in the year 1820; removed to Boston in 1843, living there until the spring of 1847, when he removed to Van Buren county, Iowa, and to Henderson county, Illinois in 1859, returning to Iowa in 1869, locating in Madison county, where he now resides; was married to Caroline R. Talcott, of Henderson county, Illinois, in 1857; by this union they have seven children, three boys and four girls: Clara, Ida, Lewis, Arthur, Ollie, Harry and Helen; owns 210 acres of land well improved, and has a fine orchard and good buildings; has been school director six years.
