F. M. Bruce, Douglas twp.; farmer, Sec. 28; P.O. Winterset; born in Brown county, Illinois, in 1843; came to this county with his parents in 1851; owns 175 acres of land; has held office of town clerk; he enlisted in the Fourth Iowa Calvary during the late war and served three years; he married Miss Harriet Templeton in 1869; she was born in Ohio; has four children: Lillie Bell, Richard F., Anna M. and Robert W.
