O. W. Barker, Grand River twp.; farmer, Sec. 9; P.O. Macksburg; was born in Randolph county, North Carolina, in 1827, and when three years of age, his parents emigrated to Indiana, where he remained until coming to this county in 1855; owns 251 acres of land, and has held various township offices; he was a member of the first board of supervisors, and opened the first road in the township; he married Miss Lucy Kivett in 1849; she was born in North Carolina; has five children: Anderson, Samuel, Viola, Peter, Betsy; lost four: Mary E., Columbus, Cora, Minnie.
