Larchwood, Iowa - Levi Sandal age 26 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the United Church of Christ in Larchwood, Iowa, with Chaplain (Cpt) Joel Higgins officiating.

Burial will follow at the Larchwood Cemetery in Larchwood, Iowa, with full military honors.

Visitation will be Friday, April 22nd from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Larchwood.

Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood is in charge of services.

Levi Nicholas Sandal was born January 4, 1990 in Fort Hood, Texas, the son of John “Johnnie” Walter Sandal and Claudia (Matthies) Pullman. He was raised in the Freeman area and attended public school graduating in 2008. He joined the South Dakota Army National Guard and was deployed serving in Iraq, Kuwait and State Side. He was honorably discharged in 2013.

Levi returned home and met the love of his life, Bobbi Jo Poppens. They were married on May 26, 2012. They made their home in Sioux Falls, SD and after attending foster parent classes they cared for six children. He worked at Salem Home in Freeman, Hy-Vee and Geo’s Bar. He most recently worked for Repossessers INC., based out of Minnesota and enjoyed meeting new people. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Freeman, South Dakota.

Among his many friends are members of “US Military Vets Motorcycle Club” and “SD-2 Sioux Crew” where he was involved in fundraisers, poker runs and raffles, to help local homeless veterans. He was a loving husband who was always supportive. He enjoyed working on anything with a motor, riding his Harley, camping, being a foster parent, doing anything with his friends and family, and working at Repossesser INC. Levi will be greatly missed by his wife, his family and also his dog, Ottie.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbi Jo Sandal of Sioux Falls, SD; mother, Claudia Pullman and step-father, Ron Pullman of Freeman, SD; brothers, Larry Sandal of Sioux Falls, SD, John Sandal of Watertown, SD; sister, Shawna (fiancé A.J. Zimmer) of Tea, SD; two step-brothers, Shane Pullman of Rapid City, SD and Shawn Pullman of Kirkland, WA; paternal grandmother, Mary Kay Sandal of Howes, SD; sister-in-law, Janel (Lee) Vander Schaaf of Rock Valley, IA; brother-in-law, Allen (Stacia) Poppens of Larchwood, IA; parents-in-law, Wayne & Vonnie Poppens of Larchwood, IA; and many nieces, nephews, cousin and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Sandal; paternal grandfather, Larry Sandal; maternal grandmother, Margit Doerr; great-grandparents, Emmy Reedy Gerhard and Anneliese Becker; and Levi’s dog, Duke.
