Kankakee, IL: Scott Thomas Bakke, 66, of Kankakee, Illinois died March 5, 2016 in Illinois. Prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Porter Funeral Home, Inwood, Iowa. A graveside service will follow at Richland Cemetery. Rev. John Wolf will officiate. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.porterfuneralhomes.com.

Scott was born July 19, 1949 in Iowa City, Iowa to Herbert and Patricia (Holland) Schoener. He was later adopted by his stepfather Ole Bakke. He attended elementary school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and later attended schools in Owatonna, Mn, Sioux Vocational School in Sioux Falls, and Hope Haven in Rock Valley, Iowa. He resided at Shapiro Developmental Center, Kankakee, IL from 1981 until his death.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and stepfather, and his grandparents Clarence and Arvilla Holland. He is survived by his brother Eric Bakke, one niece Dana Herrera, his aunt, Waunda Johnson and cousin, Laurel Northey.
