April 16, 1941 - January 20, 2015

Bev Sieperda, age 73, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at her home in Rock Rapids.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday January 23, 2015 at First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids with Pastor Dan Haggar officiating.

Private family burial will take place prior to the service at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.

Visitation will be Thursday January 22nd from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids.

In lieu of flowers family request memorials to be directed toward Lyon County Hospice and/or The National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

Beverly Ruth Sieperda was born April 16, 1941 at Hull, Iowa, the daughter of John and Minnie (Vanden Brink) Doeksen. She was raised in Rock Rapids and attended Central Lyon Public Schools, graduating in 1959.

Bev was united in marriage to David G. Sieperda on June 15, 1960. Three children were blessed to this union, Scott, Kelly and Kristin. Bev and Dave lived their entire married lives in Rock Rapids. Bev worked for Lyon County Assessor’s Office, first as Deputy Assessor and retired as Lyon County Assessor in 2001. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids. She enjoyed golfing, walking and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, David Sieperda of Rock Rapids, Iowa; three children, Scott (wife Amy) Sieperda of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Kelly (husband Bud) Postma of Madison, SD and Kristin (husband Pat) Finnicum of Eldridge, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Sabrina (husband Nate) DeJong, Hunter Sieperda, Ivy Mae Sieperda, Brooke (husband Brock) Edgar, Brittany (husband Paul) Green, Brianna Postma, Cooper Finnicum, Adeline Finnicum, and Callaghan Finnicum; three great-grandchildren, Jace and Gage Edgar, and Nora Green; a brother, Dr. Gerald (wife Diane) Doeksen of Edmond, Oklahoma; a sister, Cheryl (husband Larry) Timmerman of Rock Rapids, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie Doeksen.
