Evelyn Stickling, 81, of Hills, Minn., died Sunday, September 20, 1998 at Tuff Memorial Home Hills.

Services were Wednesday at Apostolic Christian Church, Lester, with interment in the church cemetery.

Evelyn Leuthold was born May 27, 1917, in Fairbury, Illinois, the daughter of Silas and Mary (Metz) Leuthold. After attending country school, she worked as a housekeeper in Peoria, Ill., and for a canning company.

On December 14, 1940, she married Herman Stickling at Peoria. The farmed near Bradford Ill., one year before moving to Edelstein, Ill. In the spring of 1955, they moved to Ellsworth, Minn., where they farmed until the early 1980’s.

Her husband died in November 1990. She moved to Tuff Memorial Home Apartments in the fall of 1991 and into Tuff Memorial Home in 1993.

Survivors include three sons, Harold of Peoria, Dale of Steen, Minn., ad Perry of Luverne, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Ron (Kristie) Klingenberg of Colton, S. D.; nine grandchildren; one brother, Art of Rock Rapids, and four sisters, Helen Knapp of Roanoke, Ill., Marie Menold and Martha Keiser, both of Princeville Ill., and Laura Duffery of Detroit, Mich.
