Charles Schultz, Doon's Civil War Veteran, a resident of Lyon county for nearly 60 years, a highly respected and well known citizen, answered the final roll call summons Monday forenoon, September 10th, 1929.

He reached the ripe old age of 84 years 5 months and 15 days.

Notes: Enlisted from Osterdock, Clayton county, Iowa, and served in Co. I, 8th Iowa Cavalry. He is buried in the Hillside cemetery, Doon.
