Kathryn Virginia (Aurit) Ahrendt – April 19, 1923 – October 14, 2013

AHRENDT, Kathryn Virginia

Born in Rock Valley, IA on April 19, 1923, Virginia passed away peacefully on Oct. 14, 2013 at age 90, surrounded by her family. Her loving husband of 63 years, Vernon Ahrendt, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her 7 children: Lynne (Chuck), Vickie (Terry), Wayne, Bonnie (Rod), Mark, Jill (Tim), Gayle (Tony); 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Virginia worked for the State Board of Reg. Nursing for 25 years. She enjoyed camping, swimming & traveling, but what she loved most was spending time with her family & friends. A viewing will be at held at East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary Chapel, 9189 East Stockton Blvd.,from 1-5pm on Sun., Oct. 20; Rosary will begin at 3pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Peter's Church, 6210 McMahon Drive, Sacramento, at 10AM on Mon., Oct. 21.

Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Sacramento.

Kathryn Virginia Aurit was born April 19, 1923 in Rock Valley, Sioux, Iowa, the daughter of Cleveland and Ann (De Haan) Aurit. She married Vernon George Ahrendt, the son of George T Ahrendt and Cora (Rentschler) Ahrendt.

Her husband Vernon, born August 15, 1924 in Lyon County, Iowa died October 25, 2008 in Sacramento, California.

Her father Cleveland Aurit died in 1927 and her mother married Paul DeForest Pember, on April 15, 1928 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Ann was the daughter of Andrew DeHaan and Susan Brouwer according to the marriage record.
