ENGELKA DONKER

The departed Engelka, better known as Eddie Donker, was born in Lyon County, in the vicinity of George, on May 15, 1893. He was the second child, of the John Donker family. His childhood days and the greater portion of his active life was spent on the farm where he with his sisters helped with the farm work.

At the age of 2 he suffered a serious illness which stifled his physical development. The first illness was followed by other sufferings. Each attack left him in greater distress, and increased his handicaps.

Some 14 years ago, his mother and he left the farm and came to George, his father died on the farm. Seven years ago he lost his mother, leaving him alone.

He died January 4, 1945, after a short illness attaining the age of 51 years, 7 months and 19 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his 6 sisters. They are, Mrs. Annie Vogt of Rock Rapids, Mrs. Minnie Meyer of Sibley, Mrs. Ageline Miller, residing in Calif., Mrs. Johanna Groenwold of George, Mrs. Grace Groenwold of Worthington, and Mrs. Rena Busker of George.

Besides those mentioned he leaves other relatives and friends, all of whom we commit to the guidance and mercy of the Heavenly Father.
