Obituary--

Larchwood, Iowa - Craig Elmer Tiahrt, 61, of Larchwood, died Friday, February 28, 2014 at his home. A memorial service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Inwood Porter Funeral Home. Craig was born March 22, 1952 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Elmer and Hulda (Gortmaker) Tiahrt. He graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1970. After high school graduation, he worked for John Morrell until 1990, when he went back to school to earn his Commercial Drivers License. Since 1990, Craig has been an over the road truck driver. Craig enjoyed cooking, riding motorcycles, and spending time outdoors.

Craig married Peggy Ahrendt on March 1, 1974. They resided in Larchwood, Iowa.

Survivors include his children, Melissa (Shane) Harrer of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Mike (Rochelle) Tiahrt of Hartford, South Dakota; grandchildren, Isaac and Amelia Harrer of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Meghan, Makayla, and Maci Tiahrt of Hartford, South Dakota; brother, Roger Tiahrt of Crooks, South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.

Craig was preceded in death by his wife Peggy (Ahrendt) Tiahrt and his parents.
