Virginia Hassebroek, 73, of Rock Rapids died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Rock Rapids Health Centre.

Services were Saturday at Walton-Roste Funeral Home, Ashton, with interment in Gilman Township Cemetery.

Virginia Miller was born June 27, 1930, in Sheldon, the daughter of W. Harold and Violet (Griffin) Miller. She grew up and attended school in Sheldon.

On Aug. 20, 1949, she married Derald Hassebroek in Sheldon. They lived in southern California where she worked as an operator at Pacific Bell 20 years. In 1986, they moved to South Dakota and in 1988 to Rock Rapids where she became a resident of Rock Rapids Health Centre.

Her husband died Nov. 15, 2003.

Survivors include one brother, Calvin of Cedar Rapids, and four sisters, Jolene Muth of Sioux Falls, S.D., LeVerle Brunke of Michigan, Darla Logston of Massachusetts and Mrs. Gary (Sheril) Warner of Cottage Grove, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, Raymond; two brothers, Allen and Bruce, and one sister, Glenda Van Dyke.
