Rock Rapids, Iowa - Beverly Jean Moeller, age 86 of Turlock, California, formerly of Rock Rapids, died on Monday, April 29, 2013, at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2013, at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, with Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery at Rock Rapids. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

BEVERLY JEAN MOELLER

Turlock, Calif. - April 29, 2013 - Beverly Jean Moeller, 86, of Turlock, California, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, Calif.

A funeral service was held May 6 at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, Iowa, with Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Burial followed at Riverview Cemetery at Rock Rapids.

Beverly Jean Moeller was born October 30, 1926 in Wiota, Iowa, to Earl and Lily Blanche (Prather) Sheumaker. At age 9, she and her family moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa. She attended Rock Rapids Community School and graduated from high school in 1944.

She attended Colorado Women’s College in Denver, Colo. before marring Raymond Moeller on Sept. 5, 1945. Beverly moved to San Jose, Calif. in 1958 and worked for Safeway stores in Santa Clara and San Jose, retiring after 30 years of service. She moved to Turlock in 1995. Beverly attended United Methodist Church in Turlock and volunteered for Hospice.

She is survived by her son, Jack (Carolyn) Moeller of Turlock, and her daughter, Jean (J. Scott) Husband of Fairbanks, Alaska; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband.

Beverly Jean Moeller was born October 30, 1926 in Wiota, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Lily Blanche (Prather) Sheumaker. At the age of nine she and her family moved to Rock Rapids, IA. She attended the Rock Rapids Community School and graduated from high school in 1944. She attended Colorado Women’s College in Denver, Colorado, before marring Raymond Moeller on September 5, 1945. Beverly moved to San Jose, Calif., in 1958 and worked for Safeway stores in Santa Clara and San Jose, retiring after 30 years of service. She moved to Turlock, Calif., in 1995. On August 21, 1997 Beverly’s husband, Ray died after 47 years of marriage.

Beverly attended the United Methodist Church in Turlock. She also served Hospice as a volunteer for dealing with the loss of a spouse for 10 years. Beverly really enjoyed watching baseball and reading the newspaper.

She is survived by her son, Jack and Carolyn Moeller of Turlock and daughter, Jean and J. Scott Husband of Fairbanks, Alaska; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Moeller.
