Thiel Munson, 88, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.

Services were Friday at First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Thiel Severson was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Inwood, the daughter of Ben and Alvina (Nelson) Severson. She graduated from high school in Inwood and taught school there two years. She then attended two years of nursing school in Sioux Falls, S.D.

On June 29, 1937, she married Roy Munson in Rock Valley. She worked part-time at the YMCA during the late 1960s.

Survivors include two sons, David of Sioux Falls and Neil of Wausau, Wis.; two daughters, Loretta Munson and Mrs. Toby (Madeline) Wellenstein, both of Sioux Falls; nine grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Marjorie; one brother, Bob, and three sisters, Blanche, Arvilla and Mercedes.
