Funeral services Monday for Mrs. Walter Griesse

Funeral services were held here today (Monday) for Mrs. Walter Griesse who died at the hospital Saturday. Mrs. Griesse had been in failing health and had been hospitalized for several weeks prior to her death. She was 69 years of age.

The services were held at Jongewaard-Stapp Funeral Home with burial at the Larchwood cemetery. The Rev. Gilbert Cook officiated at the services.

Elizabeth Grotewold Griesse was the daughter of Christ and Antonia Bender Grotewold, and was born at Larchwood July 23, 1902. She grew up in that community, attended the schools there, and on May 3, 1936, she was married to Walter Griesse of Rock Rapids. They farmed east of town since that time.

Survivors are the widower; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann, of Whitney, Nebraska, and Evelyn, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; two sons, Gerald of Harrison, Nebraska and Alan of Sioux Falls. Also surviving are two brothers, Homer Grotewold, George, and Woodrow Grotewold, Wichita, Kansas, and a sister, Mrs. F. A. Kruse, George.
